Cocoa beans of the Trinitario variety were brought to the island by the British in the 18th century. Since 2014, the local company Saint Vincent Cocoa Company has been taking care of the trade for growers who farm on plots of up to two hectares. Cocoa trees grow here in the shade of coconut palms. The beans are centrally fermented for 6-7 days and dried in a solar dryer. In taste, you will find notes of citrus, honey, cashews, and exotic fruits.
